Since 1958, the J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship Trust has provided eligible caddies the opportunity to attend college. Following the success of a pilot stage, the Trust launched Service to Golf in August. This new program offers benefits of the Trust to aspiring college students occupying other golf course roles at GAP Member Clubs. Qualifying Service to Golf positions include bag room, driving range, cart management and pro shop.
Awards are distributed on a financial need basis. Applicants are required to submit financial documents, proof of employment and an academic transcript. Scholars are eligible for financial aid throughout their college careers and are expected to participate in the Trust’s events when available. Scholars must continue to work while home from school to remain eligible.
Additional information and applications are available now at www.plattscholar.org. Questions may be directed to Andrew Downs, Director of Education at adowns@plattscholar.org.
