Fromal, a member of The Springhaven Club, won the Super-Senior Silver Cross Award in 2008. He also captured the Super-Senior title in the 2014 Frank H. Chapman Memorial Cup (Gross). Fromal did so by draining a 35-footer for birdie on the first playoff hole, No. 1 on his home course. He joined Tom Henry, Joe Maxwell and Mark Smith to take the 1999 Senior Four-Man Team. Fromal represented GAP in the 2001 Senior Challenge Matches.

Prior to his success on the golf course, Fromal, of Folsom, Pa., thrived on the basketball court. A Ridley High School graduate, he earned a spot in the Delaware County 1,000 Point Club and Delaware County Athletes Hall of Fame. Fromal served in the Pennsylvania National Guard before continuing his education and basketball career at La Salle University. At the collegiate level, he emerged as the lead scorer on La Salle’s 1964-65 team. In 1965, Fromal was named an All-American and subsequently drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers. He was inducted into the Philadelphia Big 5 Hall of Fame in 2009.

Fromal is survived by his wife of 51 years, Suzanne; children Steven and Amy; grandchildren Riley, Quinn, William, Eli, Eliza and Mia; and siblings Leo, Helen, Emma and Clint. Services will be private due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions. In lieu of flowers, donations in Fromal’s name may be made to The Delco Group.
