Central Series expands tournament eligibility

In an effort to further engage the region’s golf community, the GAP Central Senior Series is expanding its eligibility for select events in 2022.

Women 50 years of age or older may participate in an event scheduled for Frosty Valley on July 13. It will include two divisions: Senior (50-64 years of age) and Super-Senior (65 years of age or older). Registration closes July 8.

Males 19-49 years of age may participate in a pair of upcoming events: Bucknell Golf Club (July 28) and Tyoga Country Club (Aug. 10). A Men’s Amateur Division will join a preexisting Senior Division within both events. Registration for the Bucknell event closes July 23; Aug. 5 for the Tyoga event.

“GAP is in its fifth year of offering Junior and Senior golf opportunities to the Central Region of Pennsylvania. After receiving feedback from local players requesting opportunities for female golfers as well as opportunities for male golfers in a college, young adult or middle-age demographic, we have decided to expand select current dates,” Joe Faust, GAP Director of Central Operations, said. “I am excited to be able to offer affordable playing opportunities to all ages in the Central region and look forward to potentially expanding these opportunities in future years.”

Cost for the GAP Central Series is $60 per event. The entry fee covers golf, cart, lunch (deli-style) and prizes. Gross and net prizes are offered in each division, so long it includes a minimum of eight individuals.
