Titles taken and legacies lengthened

A legacy started and another lengthened during the 29th Four-Player Team at Bala Golf Club.

The Schuylkill Country Club team of Luke Morgan, Stephen Rice, Ryan Laudeman and Nick Hand carded a 10-under-par 126 to top the Men’s Division (par 68, 5,306 yards). Rice led the team in birdies with five on his own ball.

The Four-Player Team scoring format is two best balls of four.

In the Women’s Division (par 68, 4,823 yards) Grace Battista of LuLu Country Club, Jackie Beck of Lehigh Country Club, who serves on GAP’s Executive Committee, Mary Kate Lynch of Steel Club and Katrin Wolfe of Northampton Country Club combined for a team score of 6-over 142 to earn their first back-to-back Four-Player Team title.

Since GAP added a Women’s division to the event in 2020, which was then cancelled due to COVID-19, Beck’s and Wolfe’s names have been at the top of the leaderboard. In 2021, the duo joined Taylor Hollander of Kennett Square Golf and Country Club and Nicolina Kulhamer of Green Pond Country Club to capture the event’s first Women’s title. In 2022, Battista, then of Golf Course at Glen Mills, filled in for Kulhamer for the title. Last year, Lynch subbed in for Hollander.
