Osberg, Johnson, Boyle and French take Pro-Am, Chanaud takes professional division

A total of 40 teams teed off Monday at Rehoboth Beach Country Club (par 72, 6,315 yards), vying for a team title. The professionals were competing for a pro prize and Delaware Open exemptions.

Teams were made up of four players each, taking the best net score of the four for each hole. In the team portion, Chris Osberg paired with amateurs Dean Johnson of The Peninsula Golf & Country Club as well as Brian Boyle and Todd French of The Rookery Golf Club, took the trophy with a net score of 15-under par 57 by winning the USGA tiebreaker with the best final nine score.

In the professional category, an individual purse plus two exemptions and ties into the Delaware Open was up for grabs. The Peninsula’s Michael Chanaud, the 2023 Delaware Open champion, led the way with a 66. Chesapeake Bay Golf Club’s Austin Barbin carded 71 to round out the exemptions.

In the superintendents division, The Peninsula’s Neil Maurer, Matt Hall, Kevin Logan and Greg Tobias took the honors with a 63.
