GAP started a Winter Series in 2008 to offer players of any skill level an opportunity to compete in tournament golf during the normally quiet, offseason months. Events are open to all GAP members, 18 years of age and older, Philadelphia Section PGA members and golf professionals at GAP Member Clubs. The Winter Series also features a Players of the Year competition, which began in the fall of 2010. It is determined via a points system. Categories include Amateur Gross, Amateur Net, Senior Gross and Senior Net.

Given a growth in popularity, GAP expanded the Winter Series schedule from four to six events, starting in the spring of 2013. The Association added a Women’s Division, which also features a POY competition (Gross and Net), to the Winter Series in 2018.
