Three teams take titles at Glen Oak

Dave Maddock and Kyle Williams of the host club won a weather-shortened 23rd Sam Spencer Four-Ball at Glen Oak Country Club (par 72, 6,536 yards) Wednesday.

Numerous lightning delays prompted GAP/AGA officials to shorten the event to nine holes. Maddock and Williams prevailed in a scorecard playoff. The team carded a 5-under-par 31 on Glen Oak’s front nine. Pocono Farms Country Club’s Patrick Mitchell and Country Club of Scranton’s Nick Paone also posted a 31.

The Sam Spencer Four-Ball is a better-ball of partners event.

GAP/AGA stalwarts Kenn Bolcavage of Elkview Country Club and Art Brunn, Jr. of Wyoming Valley Country Club posted a 4-under-par 32 to win the Senior Division (par 72, 6,165 yards). The event’s Super-Senior (par 72, 5,555 yards) Division also came down to a scorecard playoff. StoneHedge Golf Course’s Anthony Andrejko and Wemberly Hills Golf Club’s Walter Savitts triumphed over four teams — all of which finished at 34.
