2026 Delaware Open Qualifying: Plantation Lakes

Gavaghan earns medalist honors

Amateur John Gavaghan of Cedarbrook Country Club shot a 1-under-par 71 to take medalist honors Monday in 61st Delaware Open Qualifying at Plantation Lakes Golf & Country Club (par 72, 6,601 yards).

The low 20 players and ties earned a spot in the Championship proper. The day’s cut line stopped at 76 with a total of 21 players qualifying.

The 61st Delaware Open Championship will be contested at DuPont Country Club (DuPont) Aug. 25-26. The Delaware Open Championship is a 54-hole individual stroke play, two-day event. All players will play 18 holes on Day One. The low 36 scores and ties will advance to Day Two, when the final two rounds will be played.
