The cherished Coal Scuttle championships illuminate the GAP/AGA calendar. Elkview Country Club stunned the Super-Senior circuit when it snapped Fox Hill Country Club’s eight-year winning streak in 2023. By virtue of said victory, the Carbondale, Pa. venue welcomes the Super-Senior Coal Scuttle Championship on Aug. 14. The Women’s Coal Scuttle Championship, as in years past, will take place concurrently at Elkview.

The 42nd Senior Coal Scuttle Championship heads to Huntsville Golf Club for the second consecutive year on Sept. 10. Berwick Golf Club and two-time defending champion Glen Oak Country Club host the 74th Men’s Coal Scuttle Championship Sept. 21-22.

The Lawler Junior Tour schedule, the junior golf component of the GAP/AGA schedule, will be released in the coming weeks. Sponsored by Abington Center for Cosmetic & Family Dentistry and Community Bank, it includes nine-hole and 18-hole events for boys and girls 10 to 18 years of age. The cost is $10 for nine-hole golfers (Division II), $15 for 18-hole golfers (Division I). The Lawler Junior Tour began in 1983.
