A new event illuminates the 2022 GAP/AGA schedule.

Family fun is at the forefront of the inaugural GAP/AGA Parent-Child, set for Aug. 11 at Buck Hill Falls Golf Club. The event is an offshoot of a longstanding Buck Hill Falls’ tradition.
“We have been talking about offering a parent-child event for some time. With this year being the 100-year anniversary of Buck Hill Fall’s Father-Son tournament, we were approached about holding an event at their facility, so we were excited to add it to the schedule,” Patrick Lloyd, GAP Director of Northeast Operations, said.
The GAP/AGA Parent-Child fills a vacancy left by the George Montgomery Fall Four-Ball, which will not be contested in 2022. The George Montgomery Fall Four-Ball, its namesake an AGA forefather, started in 2001.
The GAP/AGA season begins April 19 with the Modified Stableford at Huntsville Golf Club. It concludes Oct. 10 with the Carlyle Robinson Fall Four-Ball at Lords Valley Country Club. Merrill Lynch Wealth Management – Erickson, Hudacek & Leibman Group returns as presenting sponsor of GAP/AGA events excluding the Coal Scuttle championships.
Registration for all GAP/AGA events scheduled for April and May opens Tuesday, March 1 at 9 a.m.
In addition to the aforementioned GAP/AGA Parent-Child, the celebrated Coal Scuttle championships represent calendar highlights. Fox Hill hosts the 8th Super-Senior Coal Scuttle Championship on Aug. 24 and 40th Senior Coal Scuttle Championship on Sept. 20. The 30th Women’s Coal Scuttle Championship heads to Huntsville on Aug. 30. The 72nd Men’s Coal Scuttle Championship will take place Sept. 24-25 at Huntsville and Wyoming Valley Country Club, respectively.
The Lawler Junior Tour, sponsored by Abington Center for Cosmetic & Family Dentistry and Community Bank, begins in June. The cost is $10 for nine-hole golfers (Division II), $15 for 18-hole golfers (Division I). The Lawler Junior Tour, which began in 1983, is open to boys and girls 10 to 18 years of age.
Reminder: if you plan on competing in any GAP/AGA event, then you must first create a Golf Genius account through GAP’s registration form.
