Founded in 1897, GAP continues to champion golf for the benefit of the game in its region and beyond.
Stay at home, play at home.
This is #GAPGames, a derby dedicated to the golf-deprived during the COVID-19 pandemic. Given the closure of courses in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. golf can’t be played — in the traditional sense, that is. Unconventional times call for unconventional measures.
Your #GAPGames mission, should you choose to accept it. Create a video — no longer than a minute — and post it on social media using the hashtag #GAPGames. A golf component (ball, club, flagstick, cup, etc.) is a must. Putting down the sidewalk into chalk outline of a cup. Chipping into the kids’ sandbox. Sending a golf ball through an indoor obstacle course. Prevent complete golf withdrawal by letting your creativity take control.
GAP will repost #GAPGames submissions via its social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram and Facebook). A collection of #GAPGames will also be viewable here.
And don’t worry. #GAPGames will only self-destruct once the stay-at-home order is lifted.
GAP
Celebrating Amateur Golf since 1897, GAP, also known as the Golf Association of Philadelphia, is the oldest regional or state golf association in the United States. It serves as the principal ruling body of amateur golf in its region. The Association’s 288 Member Clubs and 75,000 individual members are spread across the Eastern half of Pennsylvania and parts of New Jersey and Delaware. The GAP’s mission is to promote, preserve and protect the game of golf.
