Founded in 1897, GAP continues to champion golf for the benefit of the game in its region and beyond.
Berwick Golf Club is closed until further notice after a June 26 storm devasted the golf course.
The club lost 100-120 trees. Professional crews, in addition to 45-50 Berwick members, began removing debris and clearing limbs from the property June 27.
“Last night we texted the membership and told them we needed volunteers to come out. The membership has always been hands-on,” Club President Tom Cicini, 40, of Berwick, Pa., said. “We’ll have nine holes open in a few days. We have a plan of action.”
The Lawler Junior Tour event scheduled for June 28 is postponed. Participants will be notified of the reschedule date.
