75th Men’s Coal Scuttle: Round One

Huntsville makes good at home, leads by nine

Huntsville Golf Club posted an even-par 288 at home (par 72, 6,853 yards) Saturday to grab a nine-stroke lead in the 75th Men’s Coal Scuttle Championship.

Logan Paczewski, the 2022 Joseph H. Patterson Cup Champion, led the charge with a 5-under-par 67. He also holds a two-stroke lead in the event’s individual portion.

Huntsville leads Glenmaura National Golf Club by nine strokes entering Round Two, which begins tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Wyoming Valley Country Club.

The low four of five scores count toward the team total. Six teams made the cut Saturday: Huntsville, Glenmaura National, Fox Hill Country Club (299), Wyoming Valley (299), Elkview Country Club (304) and Irem Country Club (305).

The Men’s Coal Scuttle Championship is the premier event on the GAP/AGA calendar.
