A total of 10 state and regional golf associations battle for junior golf supremacy over a 36-hole competition. The three lowest scores from each four-man team will count toward the team’s overall total.
The event, originally founded in 1964 by A. Fred Williamson in memory of his father, an original founder of Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, N.Y., aims to foster relationships between participants and provide a competitive playing experience for junior golfers on both national and international levels. The event consists of four-player teams competing in two rounds of stroke-play.
Last year, the Rochester District Golf Association took the title with a team score of 445. Team GAP finished tied for eighth alongside Golf Ontario with a total score of 461.
GAP’s most recent Williamson Cup victory came in 2000. Below is a look at the 2024 team.
