Team GAP wins at Bidermann

GAP reclaimed the Senior Challenge Matches with a victory at Bidermann Golf Club Oct. 8. Its last title came in 2018.

GAP holds a record 17 titles (1989-93, 1995, 1998, 2000, 2005-06, 2008, 2010, 2013, 2015-16, 2018).

The Senior Challenge Matches pits GAP against the Delaware State Golf Association, Maryland State Golf Association and New Jersey State Golf Association.

Eight senior golfers (55 years of age or older) represent each organization compete in 18 holes of stroke play. The top six scores count toward the team total.

This was the final year of Delaware’s participation in the event. It won the Senior Challenge Matches in 1994.

Celebrating Amateur Golf since 1897, GAP, also known as the Golf Association of Philadelphia, is the oldest regional or state golf association in the United States. It serves as the principal ruling body of amateur golf in its region. The Association’s 345 Member Clubs and 110,000 individual members are spread across Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey and Maryland. The GAP’s mission is to promote, preserve and protect the game of golf.
