Virtual BMW GAP Team Matches

Better update your lyrics, Jamiroquai. The 2020 BMW GAP Team Matches is made of virtual insanity.

Due to COVID-19, GAP cancelled the event’s 119^th playing on March 23. But what can’t transpire physically can play out electronically.

Introducing the Virtual BMW GAP Team Matches, an online manifestation of the Association’s founding event. Scores don’t determine the weekly victors; votes do.

The Virtual BMW GAP Team Matches is a singles-competition only. The Overall GTM Record listed for each player is since 2004, when GAP starting recording data. In an effort to make scoring as realistic as possible given the current global climate, GAP established a points-allocation system based on votes. Below is the breakdown.

• 76 percent of the vote or more (3 points to 0)

• 56-75 percent of the vote or more (2 points for winner, 1 point for other golfer)

• 45-55 percent of the vote (tie; 1.5 points for each golfer)

Voting begins on Mondays at 9 a.m. and closes at noon on Fridays of that respective week. Below is the BMW Virtual GAP Team Matches schedule.
