RiverCrest Golf & Preserve’s Suzi Spotleson fired 4-over-par 76 to claim medalist honors in U.S. Women’s Senior Amateur Qualifying administered by GAP at Northampton Country Club (par 72, 5,706 yards) Wednesday.

Birdies on Nos. 11 (par 5, 446 yards) and 18 (par 4, 315 yards) allowed the 55-year-old, Canton, Ohio resident to lead the field of 17 players by three shots.
The day’s cut line stopped at 11-over-par 83. Cedarbrook Country Club’s Diana Cardano-Casacio edged RiverCrest’s Lisa Klein in a sudden-death playoff for the final qualifying spot.
The U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championship will be contested July 30-Aug. 4 at Anchorage Golf Course located in Anchorage, Alaska. This will be the first USGA Championship hosted in the state. A total of 415 entrants will be comprised of exempt players and qualifiers from 25 qualifying events across the country. The low 64 players after Day One’s stroke play round will qualify for match play.
