Super-Senior Silver Cross Award
Talamore Country Club’s Michael Rose edged Back Creek Golf Club’s Charles McClaskey in an 18-hole playoff to win his first Super-Senior Silver Cross Award. Rose carded a 4-over-par 75, three shots clear of McClaskey, at Wilmington Country Club’s South Course, site of the Golf Association of Philadelphia’s 42nd Senior Amateur Championship. Both players finished tied atop the standings with 223 totals to prompt the extra session.
The Super-Senior Silver Cross Award is given to the player with the lowest aggregate score in the Warner Cup (Gross), Chapman Cup (Gross) and Senior Amateur Championship. Rose trailed McClaskey by a stroke entering the Senior Amateur, but edged the two-time reigning Silver Cross Award winner by that margin.
