A Championship Golf Legacy

Industrialist Clarence H. Geist founded Seaview Country Club in 1914. He commissioned Hugh Wilson to design the original Bay Course, and Donald Ross completed the project. The links-style layout quickly earned national recognition for its seaside setting, strategic bunkering, and challenging greens.

Later, in 1929, architects William Flynn and Howard Toomey added the Pines Course. This second championship layout winds through mature woodlands and rolling terrain, creating a completely different golf experience. As a result, golfers can enjoy two unique championship courses at one resort.

Seaview has also hosted many of golf’s biggest events. Most notably, the 1942 PGA Championship crowned Sam Snead as a major champion. Today, the Bay Course hosts the ShopRite LPGA Classic, welcoming many of the world’s best golfers each year.
