Metedeconk National Golf Club

Merchantville Country Club has been part of the Philadelphia-area golf community for more than 130 years. Founded in 1892, the club began as a social organization before growing into a destination centered around the game of golf.

As interest in golf increased, the club relocated to its current Cherry Hill, New Jersey, property in 1922. Members sought to create a course that combined exceptional golf with a strong sense of community. That vision led to the development of a course designed by legendary architect Donald Ross, whose work continues to influence the layout today.

A Classic Donald Ross Design

The course reflects many of the characteristics that made Ross one of golf’s greatest architects. Strategic bunkering, subtle green complexes, and thoughtful routing reward accuracy and careful decision-making throughout the round.

Although the layout provides a challenge for experienced players, multiple tee options allow golfers of all abilities to enjoy the course. In addition, ongoing improvements have helped preserve the character of the design while meeting the expectations of modern golfers.
