History

Inniscrone Golf Club opened in 1998 with a bold vision. The course was originally developed as an upscale private club that would showcase the natural beauty of southern Chester County. Renowned golf course architect Gil Hanse designed the layout to work with the property’s rolling terrain rather than reshape it. Today, Inniscrone welcomes the public while continuing to deliver the same championship-caliber experience.

Over the years, ownership evolved, and London Grove Township acquired the property. The township has preserved Hanse’s original vision while making the course accessible to golfers throughout the region. As a result, Inniscrone has become one of southeastern Pennsylvania’s premier public golf destinations.

A Championship Layout Across Dramatic Terrain

Gil Hanse created Inniscrone Golf Club to highlight the land’s natural features. The par-70 layout stretches more than 6,600 yards and challenges golfers with dramatic elevation changes, sweeping views, and strategically placed bunkers. Wind, native grasses, and carefully shaped greens reward thoughtful shot-making from the opening tee through the final hole.

Although the course provides a true championship test, multiple teeing areas allow golfers of different abilities to enjoy the layout. Practice facilities, including a driving range, putting green, and short-game area, help players prepare before every round.

A Modern Classic in Chester County

Inniscrone Golf Club quickly earned recognition for its distinctive design. Golfweek named the course among America’s Top 100 Modern Courses, while golfers continue to praise its memorable routing and scenic setting. Later improvements refined portions of the layout while preserving the original concepts that introduced many players to Gil Hanse’s architectural style.

Beyond the course, the clubhouse serves as a welcoming gathering place for golfers, outings, tournaments, and community events. Professional instruction, a well-stocked golf shop, and year-round programming further enhance the club experience.

Today, Inniscrone Golf Club remains one of the Philadelphia region’s premier public golf facilities. Challenging architecture, exceptional course conditions, and panoramic countryside views create a memorable experience for golfers of every skill level.

More than two decades after opening, Inniscrone continues to reflect Gil Hanse’s original vision. The combination of strategic design, natural beauty, and public access has secured its place as one of Chester County’s standout golf destinations.
