Located in the rolling hills of Amish country, Pilgrim’s Oak Golf Course was built in 1996 and features beautiful, picturesque views of the surrounding farmland. The 18-hole course is a links style layout designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan. In 2008, Golf Magazine ranked Pilgrim’s Oak as the 13th best course in Pennsylvania for “courses you can play.” It also annually receives Golf Digest’s Four-Star Award. Challenging greens and an abundance of bunkers demand golfers’ attention at all times.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the first glimpse of Pilgrim’s Oak assures you that you are in for a special experience. The cornfields open up to reveal the softly rolling fairways and distinctive cut lines, immaculate greens and pleasant fairways. The course measures 7,043 yards from the championship tees, with a course rating of 73.4 and slope of 138. It features bent grass on its tees and greens and bluegrass on the fairways.
Water hazards come into play on nine holes. Its signature hole is No. 12, a 223-yard, par 3, requiring a drive from a high tee to a green guarded by water on three sides. Locals say you’ll use every club in your bag. The course offers a well-stocked pro shop, driving range, and a putting and chipping green. Approximately 25,000 rounds are played each year.
