Bear Trap Dunes has earned recognition as one of the Top 5 Best Courses You Can Play in Delaware by Golfweek and was also ranked No. 4 in Delaware by Golf Magazine. It delivers one of the most unique and memorable golf experiences on the Eastern Shore.

Winding bentgrass fairways flow through native wetland grasses and natural sand dunes, creating a true coastal golf setting. Oversized, well-groomed greens and four sets of tees accommodate players of all skill levels.

This 27-hole championship layout challenges golfers with strategic design elements while maintaining a highly playable and enjoyable experience. Every hole requires thoughtful course management and precise shot selection.

Course architect Rick Jacobson, a former associate of Jack Nicklaus, designed Bear Trap Dunes to reflect the natural coastal environment. As he notes, dunes, hollows, bunkers, and water hazards require players to think through every shot.

Bear Trap Dunes Instruction & Player Development

Bear Trap Dunes offers private instruction tailored to each golfer’s individual needs and goals. PGA professionals focus on fundamentals, swing development, and long-term improvement through personalized coaching.

Lessons include player profiling, goal setting, and performance evaluation to create a structured improvement plan. In addition, instructors offer on-course playing lessons for real-game application.

Group lessons are also available and can be customized for two to ten players, making them ideal for friends, families, or small golf groups.

The coaching staff includes experienced professionals such as Head Golf Professional Michael J. Rushin and PGA Associate Michael Chanaud, a TrackMan Level 2 Certified instructor.
