American Singles Golf – Phila

The American Singles Golf Association – Philadelphia hosts events every Friday all throughout the summer. ASGA – Philadelphia offers opportunities to meet new people and play premier courses throughout Pennsylvania.

Where did it all begin? Women have played an important role in shaping the growth of golf in the United States. From the 1944 Women’s Professional Golf Association to the 1950 LPGA Tour, women’s golf has expanded in visibility and opportunity. Additionally, national television coverage of major championships further elevated the women’s game and introduced new role models to generations of golfers.

Today, golf continues to bring people together in new ways. It remains one of the few sports where men and women can compete and socialize on equal ground. Many clubs now welcome mixed participation in leagues, outings, and social golf events.

As a result, this spirit of inclusion helped inspire the creation of the American Singles Golf Association (ASGA) in 1996. Founded by Tom Alsop and David Dalton, ASGA began in Charlotte, North Carolina and expanded into a national golf network. Presently, ASGA has over 35 chapters nationwide. The organization provides opportunities for golfers to meet, play, and connect through organized golf events and social activities.

Furthermore, ASGA chapters operate locally and offers flexibility in scheduling golf outings, social events, and gatherings for their members. Additionally, members participate in monthly golf events, committees, and post-round social activities that build friendships on and off course.

Ultimately, ASGA continues to connect thousands of golfers across the country through the shared experience of golf, community, and social engagement.
