Philling the GAP: Women’s Programming

GAP offers social and competitive golf opportunities for women throughout the year.

Keeping with tradition, the GAP Women’s schedule kicks off with the 7th Women’s Spring Scramble May 12 at Cobblestone Creek Country Club. Participants enjoy lunch following the flighted gross and net team competitions.

The 2025 schedule features a new event; the inaugural Women’s Middle-Amateur/Senior Championship June 4 at French Creek Golf Club. Female GAP Members ages 25-49 are eligible for the event. Prior to 2025, the GAP Women’s Championship, the Association’s premiere women’s offering, hosted Mid-Am and Senior divisions alongside the Amateur competition. The 4th BMW GAP Women’s Championship, now a separate event, will be contested July 29-30 at Wilmington Country Club (North/South). Beginning in 2025, the event moves to a 54-hole event across two days making it a WAGR-eligible competition with points available.

Women are also eligible to register for Member Play Days. These laid-back events offer opportunities to network with fellow GAP Members and explore courses throughout the GAP Region.

GAP supports national women’s championships in the area as part of the Association’s continued efforts to grow women’s programming. In recent years, GAP staff members attended Women’s Executive Day at the ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer at Seaview Hotel & Golf Club (Bay). At the 2024 U.S. Women’s Open at Lancaster Country Club, GAP staff had a presence on the Women’s Golf Panel prior to the Championship.
