An early-bird special generally caters to the senior demographic. A new GAP initiative will reverse the trend by appealing to the younger crowd.
Registration for five — yes five — junior events opens May 6. The early-bird bundle includes the Junior Boys’ Championship (June 17-19), Francis X. Hussey Memorial (July 8), Christman Cup (July 10), Jock MacKenzie Memorial (July 15) and Delaware Junior championships (July 23-23). Entries for each event are now open.
The early-bird bundle, in effect, begins the Harry Hammond Award race. The Harry Hammond Award is comprised of Junior Boys’ Championship Qualifying, Christman Cup and Jock MacKenzie Memorial.
GAP, for the first time ever, is opening registration at once for all majors in the Junior Division, in addition to the Delaware Junior championships, to make the signup process easier for potential participants.
