TUNKHANNOCK, Pa. — Alex Pillar of Woodloch Springs carded a round of 2 under 69 to earn medalist honors in Open Championship Qualifying at StoneHedge Golf Course (par 71, 6,612 yards) Wednesday.

Pillar, 22, of Hawley, Pa., earned one of six qualifying positions and ties available for the Championship proper. The 119th Open Championship will take place July 19-20 at Lookaway Golf Club in Buckingham, Pa.
The cut line stopped at 73.
The final Open Championship Qualifying event will take place June 26 at Blue Bell Country Club in Blue Bell, Pa.
