SELBYVILLE, Del. – The team of The Peninsula Golf & Country Club’s Kevin Quimby and Roy Kiscaden, Reading Country Club’s Don Kozik and Merion Golf Club’s Joe Roeder captured the gross victory at the GAP/DSGA Team Challenge at Bayside Resort Golf Club (par 72, 6,146 yards) Thursday. They won in a scorecard playoff with a team score of 7-under-par 137.
The format was best two balls of four and featured gross and net flights.
Grabbing Flight 2’s trophy was USGA/GAP GC’s John Barrasso, Tim Quinn and Jon Buchwald as well as DuPont Country Club’s Mark Miller. The quartet finished at 2-under 142.
In Flight 1 of the net side of the tournament, Rock Manor Golf Club’s David Barnett, Dan Barnett, Jeffry Schott an David LaPanne set the pace at 11-under 133. Flight 2 of the net competition was led by Plantation Lakes Golf & Country Club’s Ray Wankmiller, Mike Wankmiller, Jonathans Landings Golf Club’s Raymond Franze and The Rookery Golf Club’s Mike Tigue with a score of 16-under 128.
