Four at even par medal at Mulligan’s Pointe

Even-par 72 was the score to beat Monday at Mulligan’s Pointe (par 72, 6,639 yards), and a popular one at that.

On the day, four players earned a share of medalist honors in DSGA/GAP Delaware Open Qualifying at that even-par number. Those players were Nikita Romanov of Philadelphia Publinks Golf Association, Dana Cooper of the home club, Peter McCaffrey of Heritage Shores and Xiong Da of USGA/GAP Golf Club.

Invitation to the Championship proper were earned by the low 45 players and ties. The day’s cut line stopped at 8-over-par 80. Today’s event was the only qualifying chance for the Open Championship.

The 57th Delaware Open Championship will be contested at Plantation Lakes Golf & Country Club, Aug 22-23. The Open Championship is a 54-hole individual stroke play, three-day event. All players will play 18 holes on Day One. The low 36 scores and ties will advance to Day Two, when the final two rounds will be played.
