The 100-Hole Hike benefitting GAP Youth on Course returns Sept. 22 to Glenhardie Country Club in Wayne, Pa. This is the fourth year of the event. Golfers (hikers) from all backgrounds have accepted the challenge of playing 100 holes to support Youth on Course opportunities for junior golfers. Each hiker pledges to raise a minimum of $2,500. Glenhardie also hosted last year’s hike.
The 2025 hiker roster includes: Adam Bracy, Jackson Beers, Andrew Burger, Jason Funderburg, Anna Kittelson, Andrew Knapp, Mario Machi, Kyle Murray, Chill Moody and Lee Thomas. Beers (GAP Director of Membership Growth), Funderburg (Director of Member Outreach), Kittelson (Manager of Adaptive Golf) and Machi (Assistant Executive Director) are completing the hike as team GAP.
It’s an all day golf marathon beginning at sunrise.
Youth on Course is a non-profit organization in partnership with GAP providing junior golfers with playing opportunities at nearly 50 area courses for $5 or less. Through donations, GAP subsidizes the remaining costs of each round. Lowering golf’s entry barriers allows for continued growth of the game among children and adolescents exposing them to opportunities afforded by the sport. With your support, GAP and Youth on Course can continue to grow this GAP member benefit. Youth on Course also offers scholarship, mentorship and professional development opportunities.
“Our Hike last year at Glenhardie was incredible, raising over $25,000 in our efforts,” Funderburg, 32, of Conshohocken, Pa., said. “The club was instrumental to our success that day. Not only were they more than accommodating. Their membership and club staff really bought into the mission of the event.”
Spectators are welcome.
Glenhardie is a family-oriented, private country club. Amenities in addition to a nine-hole short course include a fitness center, a racquets facility, dining, youth summer camps and member events.
“It means a lot to the club. We really support the program,” Glenhardie General Manager/COO Ralph Richardson, 68, of Colmar, Pa., said. “Our Director of Golf (Kyle Murray) has stepped up and is partaking in it this year. It shows that Glenhardie wants to be a part of GAP and future programs that it has.”
