The most anticipated time of the year is here. The 2025 GAP Schedule has been delivered.

It features more than 70 events for golfers of all ages and skills. GAP’s tournament season kicks off with Middle-Amateur Qualifying at Green Pond Country Club and ends with a pair of Volunteers Days at Steel Club and Valley Country Club in October.

LuLu Country Club 1 won its second title (2021), edging Huntingdon Valley Country Club by 3.5 points. BMW returns as the presenting sponsor for the 11th consecutive year. The BMW Team Matches is the largest and oldest Interclub competition in the country.

There are four chances at glory for Philadelphia’s best.

  • 42nd Middle-Amateur Championship presented by NJM Insurance Group, May 21-22 at Riverton Country Club (for players 25 years of age or older)
  • 125th BMW Philadelphia Amateur Championship, June 9-11 & 13 at Aronimink Golf Club (Radley Run Country Club is the other Qualifying-only site)
  • 121st Open Championship, July 16-17 at Bidermann Golf Club
  • 123rd Joseph H. Patterson Cup presented by Provident Bank, Aug. 6-7 at Waynesborough Country Club

Saturday qualifying for the Middle-Amateur continues (April 12 at Green Pond Country Club). There will be five qualifying events for the Philadelphia Amateur, and four each for the Middle-Amateur and Open. There will be three qualifying events each for the Patterson Cup. 

The Brewer Cup, the only shared Major between the Senior (55 and older) and Super-Senior (65 or older) groups, will take place July 7-9 at LedgeRock Golf Club. It is a WAGR event. Senior Majors include the Francis B. Warner Cup at Little Mill Country Club (White-Blue) on April 28; the Frank H. Chapman Memorial Cup June 3 at Spring Ford Country Club and 55th Senior Amateur at Berkshire Country Club Sept. 2-3. The Super-Senior iterations start with the Warner Cup May 27 at Lebanon Country Club; Chapman Cup June 30 at White Manor Country Club and the 20th Super-Senior Amateur at Bala Golf Club Sept. 23-24. The Senior Four-Man Team is July 24 at Hershey’s Mill Golf Club. The Senior Four-Ball Stroke Play, with Senior and Super-Senior divisions, visits The Legacy Club July 31.

GAP’s junior opportunities are reserved for individuals 18 years of age or younger who haven’t started their college education. The junior schedule includes the 111th Junior Boys’ Championship at Merion Golf Club (West) (June 16-18), a WAGR event; Jock MacKenzie Memorial at Sandy Run Country Club (July 7); Francis X. Hussey Memorial at Rolling Green Golf Club (July 14); Christman Cup at Saucon Valley Country Club (Old) (July 15) and The Deeg Sezna at North Hills Country Club (Aug. 5). The Jock, Hussey and Deeg all have Girls’ divisions.

The Junior-Junior Boys’ Championship will take place July 29 at Philadelphia Cricket Club (St. Martins). It is open to male GAP members ages 10-13. There is no handicap requirement for this event. The tournament’s format is 18-hole stroke play. 

The 7th Women’s Spring Scramble will be May 12 at Cobblestone Creek Country Club. The 4th BMW GAP Women’s Championship July 29-30 at Wilmington Country Club (North/South) will become 54-hole event and eligible for WAGR points in 2025. The Women’s Middle-Amateur/Senior Championship will take place June 4 at French Creek Golf Club with the Middle-Amateur Division representing women between the ages of 25 and 49 and the Senior Division representing women 50 years or older. It’s a separate event, for the first time, from the BMW GAP Women’s Championship. The Mixed Foursomes Championship is Oct. 14 at The 1912 Club.

Make memories that last in GAP’s Parent/Child events that feature Father-Son; Mother-Son; Father-Daughter and Mother-Daughter divisions. Medford Lakes will host the Younger, open to teams with children 18 years of age or younger, on July 2. The Parent/Child-Middle and Parent/Child-Older were merged into one event for 2025. The Parent/Child (Middle/Older) will be on Aug. 11 at Talamore Country Club. The event will be split into two divisions with the Middle representing children from the ages of 19-29 and the Older will be for children 30 or older.

GAP will administer 16 qualifying events for USGA (United States Golf Association) championships: U.S. Senior Open (Local) (April 22 at Out Door Country Club); U.S. Open (Local) (May 1 at Country Club of York, May 6 at Laurel Creek Country Club, May 8 at Jericho National Golf Club, May 12 at Huntsville Golf Club); U.S. Amateur (Local) (June 19 at DuPont Country Club, DuPont Course); U.S. Junior Amateur and U.S. Girls’ Junior (June 30 at Chambersburg Country Club); U.S. Senior Amateur (July 15 at Commonwealth National Golf Club); U.S. Mid-Amateur (July 21 at Cedarbrook Country Club, July 22 at Hanover Country Club); U.S. Senior Women’s Open (July 21 at Honeybrook Golf Club); U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur (Aug. 12 at Tavistock Country Club); U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur (Aug. 26 at Kennett Square Golf & Country Club); U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball (Sept. 11 at Bent Creek Country Club) and U.S. Amateur Four-Ball (Sept. 17 at Union League National Golf Club).

The Pro-President, open to golf professionals and club presidents of GAP Member Clubs, is May 14 at Whitemarsh Valley Country Club. The event includes lunch, golf, cocktails, dinner and a presentation.

The 4th Net Championship will be at Schuylkill Country Club on June 5. The field will be divided into four divisions (Amateur Men, Senior Men, Amateur Women and Senior Women). Each division will then be divided, into flights based on USGA Handicap Index.   

GAP will be represented in five honorary team events. The 63rd Compher Cup, a bout against the New Jersey Golf, will be played at Hollywood Golf Club in Deal, N.J. on April 30. The 61st Williamson Cup, a distinguished junior competition, will take place Aug. 4-5 at Le Club Laval-sur-le-Lac in Quebec, Canada. The 36th Senior Challenge Matches showcases eight-man teams from GAP, New Jersey and Maryland and will take place Oct. 22 at The Ridge at Back Brook in Ringoes, N.J. The region’s top amateur and professionals collide during the 33rd Philadelphia Challenge Matches Oct. 8 at Lehigh Country Club. The 71st Mason-Dixon Matches with the Middle Atlantic Golf Association will take place Oct. 11-12 at Green Spring Valley Hunt Club in Owings Mills, Md.

The Association thanks its volunteers for all their hard work throughout the year with a pair of appreciation opportunities. Valley Country Club will host one on Oct. 16, and Steel Club will host the other on Oct. 21.

The annual Player’s Dinner, recognizing the top performances from the year, takes place on Nov. 12 at Llanerch Country Club.

The 2nd GAP Adaptive Championship will take place Oct. 6-7 at Indian Valley Country Club. Throughout the season there will be a series of Clinics. Check gapadaptive.org for details.
