2024 GAP/AGA POY update

A look at the GAP/AGA POY competition

The GAP/AGA Player of the Year competition cleared the halfway mark.

Huntsville Golf Club’s Tyler McGarry heads the Amateur Division with 450 points. McGarry won a pair of better-ball events in the Ben Marshall Spring Four-Ball alongside Jay Vasil of Moselem Springs Golf Club and Modified Stableford Tournament and Ben Marshall Spring Four-Ball alongside clubmate Dom Castrignano.

In the Senior Division, a familiar face sits atop the standings. Three-time Senior Player of the Year (2020-22) Kenn Bolcavage holds a 50-point lead over Jack Frost National Golf Club’s Bill Ianieri. The Elkview Country Club member won the Spring Stroke Play and teamed with Mark Bartkowski of Pocono Farms Country Club to capture the Modified Stableford Tournament.

The Super-Senior Division sees Bob Gill of Fox Hill Country Club in front. He leads Joseph Weiscarger of Wyoming Valley Country Club by 77.5 points. Gill finished second to Weiscarger in the Stroke Play Championship at Country Club of Scranton.
