Three teams capture Delaware Team Challenge titles at Newark

NEWARK, Del. – The host-club squad of Alan Wagenschnur, Michael Barrow, Adam Vogelsong and Lorne Shannon captured the gross victory at the Delaware Team Challenge at Newark Country Club (par 71, 5,775 yards) Monday. They won with a team score of 11-under-par 131.

The format was best two balls of four and featured gross and net flights.

Grabbing Flight 2’s gross trophy was the team of White Clay Country Club’s Art Young, DuPont Country Club’s Guy Wharton, Fieldstone Golf Club’s Ronny Abrams and Wilmington Country Club’s Neal Levitsky. The quartet finished at 4 under.

In Flight 1 of the net side of the tournament, the team of Newark’s Joe Arrante and Jeff Medlar as well as Sakima Country Club’s Michael Maxwell and Tyler Juhl set the pace at 17 under. Young, Wharton, Abrams and Levitsky also won Flight 2 of the net competition with a score of 27 under.
