It’s a loaded golf slate for the First State in 2023.
Beginning early April and wrapping up in late October, there’s opportunities for all ages and playing skill levels.
The Major competitions – and its venues – will be standouts once again this season. The 72nd Delaware Amateur Championship at Wild Quail Golf & Country Club will take place June 26-28. The 58th Delaware Open visits Bear Trap Dunes, Aug. 21-22.
On the Junior schedule, players will look to make their mark in the 72nd Delaware Junior Boys’ & 39th Junior Girls’ Championship set for Maple Dale Country Club, July 6-7.
Seniors will once again visit some of the First State’s finest facilities. The 72nd Delaware Senior Amateur Championship will take place Aug. 28-29 at DuPont Country Club. The Super-Senior Championship will be conducted Aug. 8-9 at Frog Hollow Country Club. Chesapeake Bay Golf Club will host the Senior 27-Hole Challenge on July 11. The Senior Four-Ball Championships will be hosted by Odessa National Golf Club on Oct. 10.
The season officially tees off April 10-11 with the Spring Classic at Kings Creek Country Club and Rehoboth Beach Country Club. The 2023 playing slate concludes with the Fall Classic at Cripple Creek Country Club, Oct. 23-24.
Stay tuned for the finalizing venue of the Mid-Open Championship, slated for Oct. 16.
For all events, entries open six weeks in advance, and will close seven business days in advance unless otherwise noted.
If you plan on competing in any GAP/DSGA events, then you must first create a Golf Genius account through GAP’s registration form. Once a Golf Genius account is created, then the online registration process can begin.

Celebrating Amateur Golf since 1897, GAP, also known as the Golf Association of Philadelphia, is the oldest regional or state golf association in the United States. It serves as the principal ruling body of amateur golf in its region. The Association’s 330 Member Clubs and 90,000 individual members are spread across Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey and Maryland. The GAP’s mission is to promote, preserve and protect the game of golf.
