Philling the GAP: J. Wood Platt Endowments

The J. Wood Platt Endowment Program solicits contributions from individuals who wish to make an impact above and beyond the regular levels of giving. A Platt Scholar is chosen annually to receive funds from the endowment. Scholars may be selected to receive an endowed scholarship for up to three years. The Endowment Program has grown exponentially in recent years. Since 2013, the program has grown from six named endowed scholarships to 45. Donors set the parameters of an Endowed Scholarship, whether it be a caddie at a specific club to a certain academic major to a particular university.

  • The minimum donation level to create an Endowed Scholarship is $50,000.
  • Platt Scholars are eligible to receive only one Endowed Scholarship.
  • The Platt has added five Endowments in 2021.
