#BMWPhillyAm registration opens; Lancaster to host

Registration for the BMW Philadelphia Amateur Championship, now set for June 15-17 and 20 at Lancaster Country Club, is open.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, alterations needed to be made to the event’s 120th edition. For starters, all qualifying for the Championship proper is cancelled. Exempt players who register are guaranteed a spot in the stroke play qualifying, which will now take place exclusively at Lancaster. All other registrants will be selected by lowest handicap indexes entered on the day entries close (June 2).

Any ties for the last spot in the field will be decided by lot. Non-exempt players will not be charged a fee until selection to the field.

Cost is $135 per person. The BMW Philadelphia Amateur Championship is open to male members of GAP Member Clubs with a Handicap Index of 7.0 or less.

Regarded as GAP’s premier event, the BMW Philadelphia Amateur Championship spans four days and showcases the region’s top amateurs. Participants first compete in a 18-hole stroke play qualifier for one of 32 match play spots available. Day Two features first and second-round matches, followed by the quarterfinals and semifinals on Day Three.

The remaining two players face off in a 36-hole final on Day Four. BMW returns for a sixth consecutive year as the event’s presenting partner.
