He joined four others in the winner’s circle at day’s end: Josie Anthony, White Manor (Women’s Senior Division); Perry Landis, Moselem Springs Golf Club (Men’s Senior Division); Peter Mimmo, North Hills Country Club (Men’s Super-Senior Division) and Grace Smith, The Springhaven Club (Women’s Division).

White, a Stonewall member, birdied two of his first four holes to establish a leaderboard presence. He also birdied two of his last four to assure a two-stroke victory over Old York Road Country Club’s Ryan Beck. White, an Allegheny College alum, forged a fruitful collegiate golf career. A two-time All-America selection and three-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference honoree, he led the Gators in scoring average all four seasons. White, 29, of Lower Gwynedd, Pa., turned professional in 2015 and competed in minitour events thereafter. He returned to the GAP circuit in 2018.

Given its geographical expansion, GAP regionalized the Tournament of Champions to accommodate more participants this year. It also added two divisions: Women’s and Women’s Senior. Club champions received a “golden ticket” to one of four events: Central (Country Club of Harrisburg), North (Huntsville Golf Club), East (Medford Village Country Club) and Philadelphia (White Manor).

The Tournament of Champions began in 1962 in memory of Larry Malmed. GAP became sole administrator in 1984 after Al Porter, the tournament’s coordinator, retired because of an illness. GAP added a Men’s Senior Division in 1992, a Men’s Super-Senior Division in 2015.
