In a year of uncertainty, questions regarding the GAP Winter Series circulated like gossip in a high school hallway.

Let’s put those rumors out to pasture. The Winter Series is a go. Below is the fall slate:

DateVenueField size
Wednesday, Oct. 28White Manor60
Wednesday, Nov. 4Philmont60
Monday, Nov. 9Indian Valley60
Wednesday, Nov. 18Bala50

Registration for each event is open. A reminder that per the new registration process, interested participants must first create a Golf Genius account.

Each Winter Series event begins with an 11 a.m. shotgun start. Cost is $40 per person per event, plus a $35 cart fee per event. GAP reduced the field size of each event as a safety precaution in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Entrants are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Scoring format is gross and net stableford. Points are awarded for each hole based on a score relative to par. Once you meet your net limit, you can pick up, so there isn’t any pressure to complete every hole.

“We’re fortunate that we’re able to offer a Winter Series lineup this year,” Chris Roselle, GAP Tournament Director, said. “Given the COVID-19 pandemic, we needed to consider travel restrictions in addition to calendar space, with a lot of events being rescheduled. Thanks to the support of our Member Clubs, we were able to move forward with the Winter Series.”

The Winter Series is open to all GAP members 18 years of age or older, Philadelphia PGA Section members and golf professionals of GAP Member Clubs. It began in 2008 as a way to offer players of any skill level an opportunity to compete in tournament golf during the normally quiet, offseason months.

For more information on the Winter Series, contact Roselle at 610-687-2340 ext. 29 or via email at croselle@gapgolf.org.
