Competition initiated in 1957 in memory of Larry Malmed. Tournament conducted by Al Porter until illness interfered. Association accepted Tournament in 1984. Senior Division added in 1992 and Super-Senior division added in 2015.
Eighteen hole individual gross stoke play.
Current Member Club amateur champions, senior champions, super-senior club champions and previous winners of the event. Senior Champions must be 50 years of age or older, Super Senior Champioins must be 65 years of age or older.
Eligible players must be submitted online by your Club. Players may then register via their GAP Lockers under the GAP Invitational tab in your Locker. The tournament schedule does not provide a link to register.
Practice rounds are permitted on Saturdays and Sundays after 1:30pm and Monday’s after 12pm. Players are asked to contact the golf shop at 570-654-9242 no more than 5 days in advance to schedule a tee time. The practice round fee is $70 and the cart fee is $35. The preferred payment options are cash, VISA and MasterCard.

Gross prizes in the Amateur, Senior and Super Senior Divisions.
Sudden death play-off for Championship in each division. All other ties to be broken by using the USGA recommended scorecard tiebreaking method.
Larry Malmed Cup: Sheffield punch bowl on pedestal base, hand chased repousse. Engraved with individual names since 1962. Total height: 18 1/2 inches; total width: 16 inches. No trophy for the Senior Champion.
