Rob Bass of Sandy Run CC, a sophomore at Cabrini College, emerged as the Cavaliers leading scorer in three events this fall. The Lafayette Hill, Pa. resident finished 33rd in the Franklin & Marshall Invitational at Bent Creek CC Sept. 26 with a score of 82. He carded a 4-over-par 75 to place tied for eighth in the Elizabethtown College Fall Classic at Hershey CC in Hershey, Pa. Oct. 6. Bass forged a spot in the Top 15 in the Centenary College Cyclone Invitational at Panther Valley G&CC Oct. 18. He posted an 11-over-par 82 on the Allamuchy, N.J. track.
James Bea of Spring Mill CC, a senior at Saint Joseph’s University, took flight this fall at the collegiate level. The Churchville, Pa. resident anchored the Hawks in every tournament, capping his campaign with a 73.5 scoring average. He finished tied for 19th in the Cobra-Puma Invitational at Miromar Lakes Golf Course in Fort Myers Fla. Oct. 1-3. Bea fired rounds of 76-71-71 for a 2-over-par 218 total. He placed tied for 25th individually with an 8-over-par 148 in the Big 5 Classic at Plymouth CC Oct. 8-9. Bea finished tied for 49th in the Adams Cup of Newport Sept. 19-20, 13th in the Navy Fall Invitational and tied for seventh in the Georgetown Hoya Golf Invitational at the Members Club at Four Streams in Beallsville, Md. He also finished tied for 13th in the Navy Fall Classic at US Naval Academy GC in Annapolis, Md. Sept. 10-11. He carded rounds of 71 and 73 for a 2-over-par 144 total. Furthermore, Bea earned Athlete of the Week honors Oct. 10.
Dan Bernard of Aronimink GC, a junior at Bucknell Univeristy, carded rounds of 81, 77 and 72 to finish 30th in the Joe Agee Invitational Oct. 3-4 at Colonial Heritage GC in Williamsburg, Va. The Malvern, Pa. resident led the Bisons to a seventh-place finish in the Lehigh University Invitational Oct. 22-23 at Saucon Valley CC (Grace). Bernard, who won this year’s Deeg Sezna Four-Ball alongside father Charles, fired rounds of 76 and 75 for a 151 total.
Matthew Burkhart of Meadia Heights GC, a junior at Messiah College, continues to compile a remarkable college career. He shared medalist honors in the Messiah College Falcon Classic at Blue Ridge CC. The Lancaster, Pa. resident conquered the Palmerton, Pa. track with a score of 73. He led Messiah to victory in the PSU Harrisburg Fall Classic at Dauphin Highlands GC Sept. 30-Oct. 1. Burkhart, a 2011 Amateur Semifinalist, fired consecutive 70s for a seven-stroke victory. He again hoisted his team to triumph in the LVC Fall Invitational at Lebanon CC in Lebanon, Pa. on the legs of a 3-under-par 69. The Falcons attained runner-up honors the Elizabethtown Classic at Hershey CC (East) Oct. 6 thanks to Burkhart’s 4-over-par 74.
Aaron Burton of Hartefeld National, a freshman at Adelphia University, attained co-runner-up honors in the Goldey-Beacom College Fall Invitational at The Chesapeake Bay Club in Rising Sun, Md. Oct. 17-18. The Wilmington, Del. resident carded consecutive 74s to finish at 6 over.
Paul Carbone, Jr. of Old York Road CC, a freshman at Temple University, was named Atlantic 10 Conference Golf Rookie of the Week Oct. 16. Carbone, of Huntingdon Valley, Pa., placed tied for first in the Barnabas Health Intercollegiate, carding an even-par 144 and leading the Owls to a third-place finish. Carbone also paced the Owls in the Adams Cup of Newport at Newport National Golf Course in Middletown, R.I. Sept. 18-20. He posted a three-round total of 227 to place tied for 51st overall. Teammate and fellow freshman Mike Amole of Huntingdon Valley CC placed tied for 21st with a 151 total. Amole and Carbone won the Francis X. Hussey Memorial in 2009.
Daniel Charen of Makefield Highlands GC, a senior at Ohio State University, is capping his collegiate campaign in style. He placed tied for 40th in the Buckeyes triumph at the Marshall Invitational Sept. 12-13. Charen, of Yardley, Pa., posted a 4-over-par 217 at Guyan GC in Huntingdon, W. Va. He led Ohio State in scoring at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational at Olympia Fields CC in Olympia Fields, Ill. Sept. 16-18. Charen placed tied for 41st individually with a 14-over-par 224. He finished tied for 18th in the Buckeyes runner-up showing in the Jack Nicklaus Invitational at Muirfield Village GC in Dublin, Ohio Oct. 10-11.
Benjamin Cooley of Huntingdon Valley CC, a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania, competed in five events for the Quakers this fall. Highlights include a tie for 38th place in the Maryland Intercollegiate at River Marsh GC in Cambridge, Md. Sept. 12-13, where he put up a 220 total. Cooley, of Rydal, Pa., competed as an individual in the Rehoboth Beach Fall Invitational Sept. 25-26. He placed tied for 10th with a 146 total. He logged scores of 67 and 79 to finish tied for 14th in the Big Five Invitational at Plymouth CC.
Daniel Costello of Spring Mill CC, a junior at Holy Family University, paved the way for the Tigers in the 5th Annual Charger Challenge Oct. 9-10 at Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern, N.Y. The Richboro, Pa. resident finished tied for 14th with a two-day total of 154.
Brandon Dalinka of The Ridge at Back Brook, a freshman at the University of North Carolina, placed tied for 25th in the Wolverine Intercollegiate at the University of Michigan GC in Ann Arbor, Mich. Sept. 12-13. The Newtown, Pa. resident sandwiched a 72 with a pair of 73s.
J.R. Fasy of Wilmington CC, a senior at the University of Delaware, placed tied for 23rd in the Navy Fall Classic at US Naval Academy GC in Annapolis, Md. Sept. 10-11. The West Grove, Pa. resident fashioned rounds of 72 and 76 for a 6-over-par 148 total. Teammate Greg Matthias of Hartefeld National, a senior at Delaware, finished tied for 32nd with scores of 76 and 75.
Ben Feld of Blue Bell CC, a junior at Drexel University, led the Dragons in the Hartford Hawk Invitational Sept. 26-27 at Bull’s Bridge Golf Course in South Kent, Conn. The Blue Bell, Pa. resident registered rounds of 73, 71 and 73 to finish 12th overall. In the Big Five Invitational, Feld placed tied for 48th individually, with scores of 75 and 76 at Plymouth CC.
Ryan Fogel of Penn Oaks GC, a freshman at West Chester University, placed tied for 29th in the Hal Hansen Invitational Sept. 11-12 at Clarion Oaks GC in Clarion, Pa. He shaved four strokes off an opening 80 to finish with a 156 total.
Austin Galaska of Spring Ford CC, a freshman at Messiah College, started his college playing career in fine fashion. He finished tied for eighth with a 151 total in the PSU Harrisburg Fall Classic at Dauphin Highlands GC Sept. 30-Oct. 1. Galaska nearly cracked the Top 10, carding a 4-over-par 76 in the Messiah College Falcon Classic at Blue Ridge CC. He placed tied for eighth in the Franklin & Marshall Invitational at Bent Creek CC Sept. 26. Galaska filed a score of 75.
Joseph Gunnerman of Jericho National GC, a sophomore at Towson University, finished tied for 24th in the Maryland Intercollegiate at River Marsh GC in Cambridge, Md. Sept. 12-13. The Yardley, Pa. resident carded posted scores of 74, 67 and 74 to close the tournament at 2 over. He led the Tigers in the Georgetown Hoya Invitational Oct. 17-18 at The Members Club at Four Seasons in Beallsville, Md. Gunerman closed with a three-round total of 224.
Mike Hartsough of Edgmont CC, a sophomore at Saint Joseph’s University, made his collegiate debut Oct. 8-9 at Plmyouth CC in the Big Five Invitational. Playing as an individual, the Secane, Pa. resident carded rounds of 85 and 86.
Chas Hudacek of Glenmaura National GC, a sophomore at the University of Scranton, placed tied for 19th in the Empire 8 Conference Championship at Yahnundasis GC in New Hartford, N.Y. Sept. 17-18. The Moosic, Pa. resident registered rounds of 79 and 81.
Greg Jarmas of Philadelphia Publinks GA, a sophomore at Princeton University, boosted the Tigers to a runner-up finish in the McDonald Cup at New Haven, Conn. Oct. 1-2. The Wynnewood, Pa. resident and 2009 Junior Sportsman of the Year bookended a 6-over-par 76 with a stellar 3-under-par 67 to place tied for ninth individually. Jarmas also performed an about-face in The Classic at Shelter Harbor at Shelter Harbor GC in Westerly, R.I. Oct. 15-16. He redeemed an 80 with a 1-over-par 72 to finish tied for 16th in the event.
Michael Johnson of Talamore CC, a sophomore at La Salle University, carded a collegiate low round of 2-under-par 69 to lead the Explorers in the Navy Fall Classic at the Naval Academy Golf Course Sept. 10-11. The Ambler, Pa. resident placed fifth with a 142 total. Johnson also helped La Salle capture the Immaculata Invitational Oct. 23-24 at Inniscrone GC in Avondale, Pa.
Michael Kania of Overbrook GC, a junior at Villanova University, was the Wildcats’ top performer in three events. He carded consecutive 72s to finish sixth in the Big Five Invitational at Plymouth CC. Kania, of Haverford, Pa., finished tied for 19th in the Football Gridiron Classic at the Warren Course in South Bend, Ind. Sept 25-27. He carded rounds of 79, 68 and 73. Kania placed tied for 33rd in the Bank of Tennessee @ Blackthorn at the Blackthorn Club in Jonesborough, Tenn. Oct. 14-16. The 2010 Amateur runner-up posted rounds of 72, 75 and 78.
Connor Lefever of Lancaster CC, a sophomore at West Chester University, shined for the Golden Rams this fall. The Lancaster, Pa. resident earned runner-up honors in the Hal Hansen Invitational Sept. 11-12 at Clarion Oaks GC in Clarion, Pa. Lefever carded consecutive 72s to finish at even-par 144. He placed tied for 20th in the Atlantic Region Invitational at River Greens GC Sept. 19-20. Lefever experienced a Top 5 finish in the PSAC Golf Championship at Hershey Links in Hershey, Pa. Oct. 15-16, carding rounds of 78 and 75.
Jeff LeFevre of Linwood CC, a sophomore at Rutgers University, placed tied for 22nd in the Connecticut Cup at Ellington Ridge CC in Ellington. Conn. Oct. 10-11. The Linwood, N.J. resident finished the three-round affair with a 225 total. LeFevre also placed tied for 39th in the Lehigh invitational with a 162 total.
Luke Liddell of Torresdale-Frankford CC, a freshman at Rider University, made his collegiate debut in the Blue Devil Fall Invitational Sept. 10-11 at Wethersfield CC in Wethersfield, Conn. The Philadelphia, Pa. resident posted scores 77 and 74 for a 9-over-par 151.
Jared Palubinski of Golden Oaks GC, a sophomore at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, finished tied for 14th in the Burger King/Ohio Valley University Invitational at Woodbridge GC in Mineral Wells, West Va. Sept. 5. The Hamburg, Pa. resident finished with an 8-over-par 150.
Doug Marcincin of Northampton CC, a senior at Lehigh University, led the Mountain Hawks in the Lehigh Invitational Oct. 22-23 at Saucon Valley’s Grace Course. The Bethlehem, Pa. resident posted back-to-back 76s to place tied for 13th overall at 8-over-par 152.
Matt Raudenbush of Pine Valley GC, a senior at the University of North Carolina, scored well in three events for the Tar Heels this fall. He finished tied for 22nd in the Wolverine Intercollegiate at the University of Michigan GC in Ann Arbor, Mich. Sept. 12-13. Raudenbush, of Pine Valley, N.J., registered a 4-over-par 217, improving his play with rounds of 74, 72 and 71. He placed tied for 53rd in the VCU Shootout at Hermitage CC in Manakin-Sabot, Va. Sept. 26-27. Raudenbush registered rounds of 76, 68 and 77. He finished tied for 29th in the Jack Nicklaus Invitational at Muirfield Village GC in Dublin, Ohio Oct. 10-11. With scores of 75, 77 and 74.
Rob Robertson of Philadelphia Cricket Club, a senior at Lafayette College, shared the individual title at the Rehoboth Beach Fall Inivational at Kings Creek CC Sept. 27-28. The Philadelphia, Pa. resident carded rounds of 72 and 67 for a 3-under-par 139 total. Robertson, the 2007 Junior Player of the Year, tied with the University of Pennsylvania’s Marco Fortades and Navy’s Time Shield, but earned medalist honors by virtue of his birdie on No. 18 in the final round.
Patrick Ross of Glenmaura National GC, a sophomore at the University of Hartford, placed tied for 23rd overall with a 220 total in the Adams Cup of Newport at Newport National Golf Course in Middletown, R.I. Sept. 18-20. The Dunmore, Pa. resident finished tied for sixth overall in the Connecticut Cup Oct. 10-11 at Ellington Ridge CC in Ellington, Conn., carding rounds of 73 and 72.
Eric Slawter of St. Davids GC, a freshman at West Chester University, competed in six events this fall. His best finish came in the PSAC Championships at The Links in Hershey, Pa., where the Wayne, Pa. resident placed tied for 13th overall with a score of 158.
Bobby Svigals of Radnor Valley CC, a freshman at Franklin & Marshall College, won the Ted Keller Memorial Tournament Oct. 2 at Hinting Hawk Golf Course in Glen Allen, Va. He finished with a 3-under-par 141 to lift the Diplomats to runner-up honors. Svigals, the 2010 Christman Cup champion, also boosted his team to victory in the Moravian Fall Invitational at Woodstone CC Sept. 15. The Villanova, Pa. resident carded a 4-over-par 75 to finish as individual runner-up.
Olver White of Manufacturers G&CC, a sophomore at Allegheny College, finished tied for 10th in the Guy W. Kuhn Classic Sept. 18-19 at the Country Club of Meadville in Meadville, Pa. The Lower Gwynedd, Pa. resident overcame an 8-over-par 78 with a 1-over-par 71 in the second round. White placed tied for sixth in the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic at The Bridges GC in Abbottstown, Pa. Oct. 8-9. He posted an 8-over-par 152 total.
